A blast to the very end!

ROCK FALLS – The city will ask for permission tonight to issue up to $5 million in alternate revenue bonds to fund its planned riverfront green space project. The Rock Falls City Council will take action on the bond ordinance, as well as giving an area company the green light to start work on the project’s first phase. Martin & Company Excavating of Oregon submitted the low bid of $491,380.80. The ordinance language allows the city to use the bonds for any projects within the new downtown tax increment financing district. Plans include an amphitheater, water feature, skate park, public restrooms, improvements to the riverbank, and development of a bike and walk path. ROCK FALLS continued on A54

Three of the ordinances are required for the new East Central Business District TIF, and the fourth is needed to amend the West Central Business District TIF so the Lawrence Building and nearby rights of way can be moved from the expiring TIF district into the new East Central TIF.
