DIXON â After a 7-year trek through the court system, the defamation case filed by a former Dixon High School basketball coach and athletic director has settled out of court. The suit, filed by Steve Sandholm, 64, in April 2008, claimed that some parents defamed him when they accused him, online and on the radio, of verbally abusing his players, and making profanity-laced speeches during halftime. Sandholm Parents Richard Kuecker, Ardis Kuecker, Mike Venier, David Deets, and Robert Shomaker settled in January, said Stephen Fieweger, Sandholmâs attorney. SETTLEMENT CONTINUED ON A4
