Whenthe whitemanfirstsettled in America,theNativeAmericanpopulationwaslessthan 12million.Noindividualownedland.Thelandwasowned orclaimedbythetribe.Eachtribe wantedalarge,unoccupiedspace arounditsvillageforhuntingandfishing.There wasnocommonlanguage.In Americatherewereabout100languages.

Inthe2020 presidentialelection, 83% ofvoterscastballotsinOgle County.Inthe2018midterms,59.63% castballots.

HemarriedBarbaraBeecherin1975and sheprecededhimindeathin2018.Theylived formanyyearsinSunCityArizonainwhich hesmartlynicknamed“God’swaitingroom.” ThelastfouryearshelivedinNoblesvillewith TeriandJohninhopesofrenewingrelationshipswithallofhiskids.

“ifyou’retoobusytohuntandfish,then you’retoobusy,”andhelivedbyit.Marv enjoyedsnowmobiling,boating,water skiing,shootingsports,huntingandfishing –heenjoyedallthingswithhisfamilyand friends.Marvhashuntedandfishedfrom ArgentinatoNorthernCanada.Hewasa member,andproudsupporter,oftheNRA, DucksUnlimited,andPheasantsForever,and manytrapclubs,andfishingclubs.Hewasa lifetimememberofmanyoutdoorconservationorganizations.
Marv,alongwithNeat,spenttimefishing andtraveling,butmostwasspentinCanada atCatsontheRedandPut-in-Bay,OHon LakeErie,whereitwastheirhomeawayfrom home.Theyalsolovedspendingtimewith grandchildren,andinmostrecentyearswith great-grandchildren,whichhethoroughly enjoyed.
