Defining a nuisance Hennepin Village to address fences, grass clippings and property maintenance BY DAVE COOK news@putnamcountyrecord.com

HENNEPIN — Though the village of Hennepin has repeatedly reminded residents not to blow grass clippings onto streets and sidewalks, the issue remains. However, steps are now being taken by the board to officially define this act as a nuisance. During the June 21 meeting, board members discussed upcoming changes to the village code which will provide definitions of nuisances for miscellaneous

problems including grass clippings, fencing and general property upkeep. The changes will also address enforcement procedures and penalties. A public hearing will be held Wednesday, July 12, concerning the ordinance changes. The hearing will cover fencing materials, uniformity, placement, maintenance and homeowner responsibilities. The village also appointed Tim Pyszka as the new property maintenance officer.
