HENNEPIN — Both sides of the Clifford A. Andersen Jr. court case agreed Thursday, Sept. 14, to changes being made to the trial date. Andersen, 67, of Standard faces the charge of concealment of a homicide death, a Class 3 felony, after allegedly finding the body of Deborah Dewey, 62, of Ladd at a vacant home on Fifth Street in Standard. He allegedly wrapped Dewey’s body in a blanket and tied it up with rope and duct tape before burying it in a shallow grave. Andersen is Dewey’s brother-in-law and lived near the vacant home. Dewey’s body was found by officials in a shallow grave at the vacant property in Standard on Sept. 12, 2016 — 20 days after she was reported missing on Aug. 23. It was reported that police were alerted to the Standard property following an interview with a person who had knowledge about the case. One day after Dewey’s body was found in Standard, police arrested Andersen. Andersen is being represented by the Parker and Parker law firm in Peoria. His attorney, Drew Parker, requested that because of the thousands of pages of discovery information supplied to him before Andersen’s pre-trial hearing on Sept. 14 in Putnam County Court that the previously scheduled Oct.16 jury trial be stricken and rescheduled.
