His efforts to create the baseball field next to his home resulted in a beloved annual community event that brought families and fellow baseball fans together to enjoy a summer’s day playing ball. Alleman, 88, a longtime farmer and Putnam County Record columnist, died on March 1. See story on Page 4, obituary on Page 7.
