Klopcic (second from right) is joined by IVCC President Jerry Corcoran (left), Student Government Association officers Cristian Mendez of DePue, Sarah Tipton and Alexis Scarpaci, both of Dalzell, and Hugo Perez of DePue along with Fran Brolley, director of community relations and development. “Although we are pleased to have reached our immediate goal, we hope that Betsy’s generosity and commitment to our cause of making higher education accessible to all will inspire others to follow,” Corcoran said. All campaign donations of $250 or more will be recognized on a permanent display in the Community Technology Center. The deadline for inclusion on the display is Jan. 31. how to best prepare for professional auditions in general. The ITA’s statewide auditions (commonly referred to in the industry as “the ITA’s”) provide more than 300 actors an opportunity to audition in front of a theatre full of casting representatives from throughout the state and beyond. Actors of all ages and types will be hand selected from a pool of about 500 applicants. ITA Executive Director Aimee-Lynn Newlan explains the clinics give actors insight into how
applications are chosen, what to expect on the day of auditions, and how to make the most of their 90 seconds on stage. Newlan encourages all actors, even those not attending the ITA’s to take part in this clinic. “It’s a valuable learning opportunity for all!” This year’s mock audition clinic will also include a discussion on headshot/ resume submissions. A select number of actors will be chosen to perform their audition pieces in front of the audience and be given feedback by the
facilitators. Newlan explains the event is a great opportunity for local actors. “It’s free for all members of the ITA and Community Players of Streator, and only $10 for everyone else. I encourage anyone serious about acting to join us on this afternoon.” The clinic at Engle Lane Theatre, 1012 Columbus Road in Streator, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. Participants must register in advance for the clinic at www.illinoistheatre.org and clicking on the Auditions tab.

Missing You On Your Birthday Dad You were very kind and thoughtful With a warm and loving heart And when other people needed help, You always played your part. You’re thought of every single day Whatever time of year But somehow more than ever Now your special day is here. No present can be given
And that’s very hard But there’s a world of love inside This special little card. Each memory is shining bright And treasured dearly, too, But memories can’t take the place Of someone dear, like you. Forever Loved and Missed, Mike, Mel, Vera, Kathy & Peggy
