If you think of a library, the first thing that comes into mind is books. For obvious reasons. But libraries are more than just books, especially here in Lemont and Homer Glen. Both libraries are mainstays of the communities, with Lemont’s Public Library celebrating its 80th anniversary and Homer Glen celebrating 41 years.

Yes, libraries are truly places for those of all ages. You probably never thought about learning to play a ukulele, showcasing food dishes with a selected “spice of the month,” or embracing your inner yogi at a library. Both libraries are great learning centers for an eclectic mix

Meetups are a great way to expand your network of friends and professional acquaintances. Artists, women business owners, book clubs and more.
PLAYING GAMES
Bingo, Pinochle, Mahjong, and more. Join fellow enthusiasts and have fun in a friendly, competitive manner at your local library.
ARTISTIC PROJECTS
From “Take and Make It” projects to virtual workshops, both Lemont and Homer Glen offer fantastic projects for children and adults. Some classes are held on site and some “on the road,” being taught by an artist who can help guide you further.
FUN AND LEARNING FOR THE CHILDREN
Education clubs, including art, reading, and math, are available for your children to expand their knowledge and meet new friends as well. And, for the even younger ones, parents can sit with their babies and toddlers for storytime.
