16 SHERIFF ACTIVITY Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle reports the following activity: Nov. 2 At 6:49 p.m., deputies, along with the Rochelle and Hillcrest fire departments, responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and Illinois Route 64. An investigation revealed that a southbound vehicle operated by Shirley Rees, 82, of Steward, failed to yield at the intersection and struck a westbound vehicle operated by Charles Myers, 64, of Mt. Morris. Rees was transported by Rochelle Fire Department ambulance to Rochelle Community Hospital for minor injuries. Rees was cited for failure to yield at an intersection. Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle
complaint in the 200 block of South Division Avenue in Polo at 9:25 p.m. After an investigation, Yancy L. Webster, 56, of Polo, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol, obstructing identification, resisting/obstructing a police officer and violation of the Concealed Carry Act. Ryan T. Dawson, 31, of Polo, was arrested or obstructing identification and resisting/ obstructing a police officer. Both Webster and Dawson also were cited for unlawful transport/possession of open alcohol. Webster and Dawson were transported to the Ogle County Jail. Nov. 4 At 6:45 a.m., deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Malibu in the 8000 block of Illinois Route 251
for speeding and improper lane usage. The vehicle fled from the deputy. A pursuit began, but was terminated shortly after it started. After an investigation, the vehicle was located in Steward. The driver, Kory Barber, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, no valid driverās license, speeding 35-plus over the speed limit and improper lane usage. Barber was transported to the Ogle County Jail. Nov. 5 Zachary Mann, 32, of Rochelle, was arrested for driving while license suspended and an outstanding Ogle County traffic warrant. Mann was arrested by deputies on Interstate 39 after being stopped for speeding. Mann was held in lieu of bond at
the Ogle County Jail. At approximately 5:03 p.m., deputies responded to 211 Powers Road in Hillcrest for a two-vehicle crash. After investigation, Laritza Deler-Carcasses, 30, of Rochelle, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Deler-Carcasses was transported to the Ogle County Jail. The crash still is under investigation. At approximately 7:48 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 5500 block of West Lightsville Road in Leaf River for a report of a domestic disturbance no longer in progress. After investigation, deputies arrested David A. Stark, 38, of Leaf River, for aggravated domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence. See SHERIFF ACTIVITY, Page 17
