DAR Good Citizen Award presented to Madix Barrett of Stillman Valley High School Madix Barrett was presented the DAR Good Citizen Award by Lydia Roberts of the Rochelle Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. Madix was chosen through a process that involves both the teachers and the members of the senior class. The winning student is selected because he or she exemplifies the traits of a Good Citizen which are Dependabil-
ity, Service, Leadership and Patriotism. In addition to being selected as the winner for Stillman Valley High School, Madix’s essay on “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It” was selected by a team of independent judges as the winner from five Rochelle area Good Citizen schools and was advanced from the chapter to the district level.

Rochelle Township High School senior Marlen Hueramo was presented the DAR Good Citizen Award by the Rochelle Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution at the recent honors ceremony. Hueramo was selected by a process that involves both her teachers and members of her senior class because she exemplifies the traits of a Good Citizen: Dependability, Service, Leadership and Patriotism.
