Russell V. Ross, 92, of Morris, passed away early Monday morning, January 2, 2017 at the American House in Hazel Park,

Maxine waitressed for many years at her mother’s restaurant in Coal City, as well as at Sam’s Snackbar and at several establishments in Joliet. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City, where she was involved with the Mothers Club when her children were growing up. Survivors include three children, Rae

Lynn (Dale) Santerelli of Morris, Jerry (Cathy) Shirtino of Coal City and Jackie (Steve)Sharp of Cordova, Tennessee; (8) grandchildren, Shellie Santerelli of Ottawa, Jerry (Chrissy) Santerelli of Plainfield, Brian Santerelli, Jerry (McKenna) Shirtino and Danielle (Tyler) Valiente all of Coal City, Kris Sharp of Cordova,Tennessee, Samantha (Justin) Smith of Fort Hood, Texas and Raegan Sharp of Cordova, Tennessee; and three great-grandchildren, Kendall, Erin and Brendon, with another expected. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond; and husband, Gerald R. Shirtino. Per Maxine’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and memorial service will be held at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 N. Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. The family will then receive friends for a memorial visitation following the service until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Maxine will be laid to rest in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery with her late husband at a later date. Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Maxine’s memory to the Heritage Health of Dwight Activities Department, Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to Tender Loving Care Pet Rescue. Janet Louise Ziegler, age 65, of Morris, passed away Saturday evening, December 31, 2016 at Park Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Morris. Born February 28, 1951 in Morris, Janet Louise was a daughter of the late Lester M. and Lois C. (Dickman) Thorsen. She was raised in Morris and graduated from Morris Community High School with the Class of 1969. On October 13, 1973, Janet married Ronald Ziegler in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, and together

they raised their family in Morris. Janet worked for Mazon State Bank for 12 years until retiring in 2006. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, where she taught religious education; she belonged to the Norman Homemakers Club, and was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Ronald; three children, Brenda (Jeff) Edwards of Morris, Timothy (Jerri) Ziegler of Plano and Christian (Rickee) Ziegler of Ottawa; (9) grandchildren, Logan Edwards, Alexa Edwards, Graham Ziegler, Arieanna Castro, Jenisis Welch, Ethan Ziegler, Jersi Ziegler, Landen Ziegler and Wyatt Ziegler; one brother, John (Carol) Thorsen of Crown Pointe, Indiana; two sisters, Christine (Gordon) Gantzert of Mazon and Doris (Dan) Olloff of Freeport, Illinois; brothers and sistersin-law, Pam (John) McNabb of Morris, Angela (William) Walsh of Verona and Diane (Mark) Washburn of Morris; nieces and nephews, Karen (Chase) Olson, John (Alana) McNabb, Aaron (Addie) McNabb, Sarah (Cecil Cecirello) McNabb, Peter (Mandi) McNabb, Abby McNabb (fiancé John Savoree), Gary Gantzert (fiancée Mira Dudchak), Katie (Jeff) Homerding, Todd Olloff, Andrew Olloff, Rob Thorsen and Kelley Thorsen, and numerous cousins and friends. Washington St. (one block east of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow Thursday morning, January 5 at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street in Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe,CR officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris.
