LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
T
he Lockport Township Fire Protection District covers an area of 46 square miles, protecting 85,000 residents within the Cities of Lockport, Crest Hill, Romeoville, New Lenox and unincorporated Will County. The Fire District has (6) strategically located stations, with a daily minimum staffing of 26 professional firefighter/paramedics operating (5) ALS Engines, (1) ALS Ladder Truck, (6) ALS Ambulances and (1) Command vehicle as frontline apparatus. In addition to Fire and EMS services, the Fire District also provides: • Public Education o CPR Classes o Certified Babysitter classes o Juvenile Fire setter program o Fire Cadet Program o Senior Services Outreach programs • Code Enforcement services • Arson & Fire Investigations • Hazardous Materials mitigation • Technical Rescue Response • Tactical EMS for active shooter incidents • Airport Rescue Firefighting covering Lewis Airport • Canine & Drone capable Search and Rescue • Water Rescue & Recovery which includes dive, surface ice rescue, flooding & swift water emergencies and all waterway incidents along the Chicago Sanitary Canal and Illinois & Michigan Canal.
