SISTER DOROTHY KINSELLA Sister Dorothy Kinsella, OSF (1934 - 2015) died at the University of Chicago Hospital, Chicago, Illinois on September 14, 2015. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Margaret and John Kinsella. One of three children, she was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Daniel Patrick Kinsella. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Reichart of Lincolnshire, IL. Sister Dorothy was a treasured member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate (Joliet) for 62 years. Sister Dorothy was a member of St. Clement Parish in Chicago. She attended the Parish grade school and graduated from the Parish High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree with a major in history from the College of St. Francis (University of St. Francis), a Ph.D. in American History from Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri, and a certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Claret Center in Chicago. Sister Dorothy began her ministry in education as an elementary teacher in Columbus, Ohio. In 1962, she joined the faculty of the one year old Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, teaching history, religion and speech. After completing graduate studies in 1971, she became an assistant professor in the History Department of the College of St. Francis. In 1975, her ministry became a ministry of peace and justice when she joined NETWORK, a Catholic Social Justice lobby in Washington, D.C., as a staff member. She served on the Central Administration of the Congregation for four years. The plight of women and children in abusive family situations prompted Sister Dorothy to start Groundwork, a temporary home and educational opportunity for victims of domestic violence, at Guardian Angel Home in Joliet. She expanded these services to encompass violence prevention for adults. From 2001 to 2011 she ministered as Director of Adult Faith Formation at St. Andrew Parish in Romeoville, Illinois. JENNIFER A. LARSEN Jennifer A. Larsen died suddenly, Saturday, September 12, 2015 while attending a wedding at the Frank Lloyd Wright Emil Bach House in Chicago. She was 42 years old. Survived by her lifelong soulmate of 18 years, Kenneth Kinzler of Chicago and their daughter, Lily (6), and dog, Wrigley, both endlessly attached to her side. Her sister, Susan (Stacey) Ramsey of Jonesboro, IL. Her two brothers, Greg (Tammy) Larsen of Tacoma, WA and Erik Larsen of Anna, IL. Her parents, Lars and Carole Larsen of Anna, IL, along with multiple cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles along with an extraordinarily diverse group of friends. Preceded in death by her biological father, Errol Saugstad. Jennifer was born in Arlington Heights, IL. She graduated from Anna Jonesboro High School Class of 1991 and attended Columbia College in Chicago. Co-owner of K2MODERN, LLC, a Chicago-based online retailer specializing in vintage midcentury and Danish modern furniture and ac-
cessories. Jennifer was very active in her daughter Lily’s school, the LaSalle Language Academy of Chicago in Old Town, along with St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Bucktown. She was an extraordinary chef, avid foodie, wine connoisseur and intrepid traveler; a bon vivant that thrived on exhilarating new experiences and adventures. Above everything, she was a loving daughter, faithful partner, trusted friend, and doting mother, always willing to lend a helping hand or attentive ear to anyone in distress or needing support. Her boundless energy, outgoing personality, infectious smile, and endless positivity will be so greatly missed. And to those who didn’t know her, we send our deepest sympathy. Clara L. Ostheim (Anderson), who was known to many as “Petie,” passed away June 1, 2015. Born October 21, 1919, in Joliet, IL to Stella (Frost) and Willard Pearson. Petie was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Richard and James; a sister, Jeannette Chuporak. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald; a sister, Joyce Ryan; a brother, Chipper (Joyce) Pearson; two daughters, Judy (Robert) Liberty and Linda (Marc) Musser; two sons, Leonard (Peggy) Anderson, and Terry Ostheim; 17 grandchildren,

21 great grandchildren. During her life she was an Illinois Bell phone operator and GCO; a First Federal of Largo, FL associate, and the Ass’t. Treasurer for the Sun Coast Federal Credit Union (now GTE), from which she retired in 1980. Petie enjoyed dancing of all kinds, including square-dancing with the Left Allamanders: sewing with counted-cross stitching, and making Christmas Tree skirts for people she loved. NANCY M. PHILLIPS Nancy M. Phillips, age 75, of New Lenox,passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015. Loving daughter of Jim (Pam) Kowalski and Susan Carnahan; cherished grandmother of Emily, Michael, Dillan, and John. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Stuart and Peg Phillips. Mary Jane Prieboy (nee Ludwig), age 80, passed away peacefully at her home on September 9, 2015, surrounded by her family. Mary Jane was born December 8, 1934 in Joliet. She was a lifelong resident of Lockport and graduated from

Lockport High School and later from St. Joseph School of nursing. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital until retiring in 1957 to become a full-time mother and homemaker. Mary Jane was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who will be remembered for her smile, laugh, and selflessness. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved to garden. Playing cards with her aunts and friends was a passion. Mary Jane will be missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Casper and Katherine Ludwig; and her brothers, Don and Tom Ludwig. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Arthur J. Prieboy Sr.; two sons, Arthur J. Prieboy Jr. (Colleen) of Elwood, and Michael; two daughters, Joni (Brian) Osterman of Homer Glen, and Suzi (Bob) Rahe of Mokena; five grandchildren, Leo Prieboy, Jillian (Martin) Deaville, Rebecca (fiance Christopher Johnson), Mary, and David Osterman. Per the wishes of Mary Jane, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Mary Jane’s life will be remembered with a memorial mass Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church 13030 W. 143rd St., Homer Glen. Interment will be held privately at a later date at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Orland Park.
