JTHS announces Illinois State Scholars

District 157-C Superintendent Dr. Maura J. Zinni (left to right), Chelsea teacher Leah Pinciak, Board of Education President Christopher McFadden stand together. Pinciak, a fifth-grade teacher at Chelsea Intermediate School in District 157-C in Frankfort, has earned the highest credential available to American educators by recently becoming a National Board Certified Teacher through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Pinciak was recognized for her accomplishment at the District 157-C Jan. 12 Board of Education meeting.
On February 1, 2015, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Glenn of Joliet, have two very good reasons to celebrate. The couple will be married for 68 years, and Kathleen will also be celebrating her 88th birthday. Norman and the former Kathleen Miller were united in marriage by Reverend Fabian Donlan at St. Mary’s Carmelite Church in Joliet on February 1, 1947. They are the parents of Vicki (Chuck) Woods, Joy (David, deceased) Videtich, Patricia (Larry) Musson, James (Paula) Glenn, Cheryl Papesh, Thomas (Hollie) Glenn, Scott Glenn and Gail Saunders. They are proud to have 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Norman recently celebrated his 90th birthday on November 27, 2014 (Thanksgiving Day). A birthday party was held at Cemeno’s on Friday, November 28, 2014, with his wife, children and grandchildren. Also invited were his sister, Eleanor Salman, and her extended family. You have been truly blessed to have each other for 68 years. Life’s journey has been a good one, full of love and companionship. We treasure these moments and love you both very much. adno=0305273
