He is survived by two nieces, Nancy (the late Dan) Fischer, of Anacortes, WA and Janice (John) Ferrell of New Orleans, LA; three nephews in MN; several cousins; his best friend and companion of 40 years, Rita Postel, who was his care taker for the past 3 1/2 years; friends, Harry May, Bernie Meyer, Todd Franklin, Rob Barrowman, Tom Sowa and Caryn Aldrich, who were all true friends for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Frank Kapsch; his five brothers, Richard, Francis, Harold, William and Bernard. Henry was a member of Harwood Post #5, American Legion and also Voiture 796 of 40 & 8, Irving A.C and the Old Timers Baseball. Henry had a great sense of humor and many other friends. He donated property at the corner of Plainfield Road and Nicholson Street when Plainfield Road was redone. The City of Joliet created a cul de sac and put up a sign “Kapsch’s Korner” to honor Henry’s mother and her five sons who all served in WWII. Richard A. Locher Jr., age 64, a lifelong Joliet resident, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. He was born December 12, 1950, in Joliet to the late Bertha (nee Griparis) and Richard A. Locher, Sr. A graduate with the class of 1968 at Joliet West High School, Rick also attended Concordia Teachers College. Survived by his wife, Melissa (nee Rush) Locher; daughter, Beth (Douglas) Kaiser; grandchildren, Brendan and Jenna Smith; brother, Tom Locher; three nephews, Gregory (Nicole), Nathaniel (Laurie) and Nicholas (Judy) Locher. Preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved maltese “Lari”. Rick retired from Local #150 after over 35 years of dedicated service as a crane operator. Music was his passion; at the age of 12 he began playing the organ at St. Peter Lutheran Church which led to playing at various other churches in the area. Survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn A. Kucinic (nee Larson); his brother, William (Pat) Kucinic of Joliet; and his sister, Lucille (Howard) Hickman of Joliet. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Mary Kucinic; and his brother, Thomas Kucinic. Bart was born July 31, 1934 in Joliet. Graduate of Joliet Catholic High School. Veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. Bart retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 35 years. Bart has donated his remains to the Illinois Anatomical Gift Association to further the science of human anatomy. Memorials in his name to United Way of Will County, 54 N. Mary Louise Johnson (Hulbert), born May 7, 1929, died at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home on October 1, 2015, after a brief illness. Mary lived in Lockport all her married life. She and Oscar Johnson celebrated their 68 year wedding anniversary on September 14, 2015. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Hulbert; brothers, Charles and Wayne; sisters, Betty and Elaine. Mary is survived by her husband, Oscar Johnson; daughter, Lynda (Ron) Caneva; son, Charles (Carol) Johnson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Sitar, Chuck (Jen) Johnson, Carl (Kelly) Caneva, Gina Caneva (Mark Eklund); seven great grandchildren; and one brother, Joseph Hulbert. She loved to cook and has an extensive cookbook collection. Mary loved to go to the casino and play bingo. She especially enjoyed her great grandchildren. Mary’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You”, to Dr. Dan Co and his staff, and the physicians and staff at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
