DIXON – BorgWarner will invest $9.4 million in its Dixon plant over the next 3 years and add 40 jobs, according to a company news release. The Auburn Hills, Michigan-based company, which makes components

and systems for powertrains for passenger cars and on- and off-road commercial diesel vehicles, made the announcement Thursday morning. Expanded production capacity will focus on environmentally friendly technologies to reduce emissions and improve fuel economy for passenger cars and commercial vehi-

cles, the company said. The plant, which has been in Dixon for 50 years, has a workforce of 210. The new jobs are expected to be for manufacturing and product engineering, supplier quality, supply chain, and technical and quality support, the release said.

‘‘

... it says a lot about the work ethic of the local people. A lot of those employees have been working there for decades.
