Donation honors Sharon Wagner

Oregon Woman’s Club donates children’s books Charlie by Karen Lewis and Charlie Santoro, The Whole Sky by Heather Henson, and The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, by Charlie Mackey. The titles were selected in honor of Wagner’s love of horses. Each book contains a bookplate acknowledging the donation in Wagner’s name. They are all available on request from the Oregon Public Library. Wagner was an accomplished horse woman, doing recreational riding and participating in barrel races on horseback. She was also an elementary school teacher for more than 31 years in the Oregon, Seward and Chana school districts.
The Oregon Woman’s Club has donated a collection of children’s books to the Oregon Public Library. The donation was made in the name of Sharon A. Wagner, long-time past president of the group, who passed away in January of this year. The books, all of which are about horses, selected with the help of Debbie Herman, the youth librarian, are designed for a variety of age and reading skill levels.
