Dale Cline, 58, of Creston was appointed to the Union County Board of Supervisors Wednesday. The decision came after the appointment committee made up of Union County Auditor Sandy Hysell, Recorder Paula White and Treasurer Kelly Busch interviewed nine applicants Wednesday afternoon. “I was very surprised. I did not even think I had a chance to be considered for the position,” Cline said in an interview this morning. “I feel so honored and I know

Hartley sentenced to no more than 47 years in prison Jennifer Jean Hartley, 43, of Thayer was sentenced to no more than 47 years in prison after pleading guilty Hartley to seven various counts to avoid an initial charge of first-degree murder.
The sentence was delivered this morning in an Union County Courthouse. Sentences for each conviction will run consecutively. UK police find ‘significant’ evidence; May slams US on leaks MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Home searches across Manchester and beyond have uncovered important items in a fast-moving investigation into the concert bombing that left 22 people dead, Manchester’s police chief said Thursday as a diplomatic spat escalated over U.S. leaks about the investigation to the media.
