Southwestern’s Board of Trustees holds May meeting The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) board of directors met 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, in the SWCC Administration Center for its regular monthly board meeting. A public hearing was held for the replacement of the gymnasium floor in the Student Center. No oral or written objections or petitions were heard or submitted. The board recessed to hold a Collective Bargaining Strategy Session from 5:33 to 5:55 p.m. When the board reconvened, Tom Lesan, SWCC vice president of economic development, presented the two bids received for the gymnasium replacement

North Korea says ready to deploy, mass-produce new missile TOKYO (AP) — North Korea said Monday it is ready to start mass-producing a new medium-range missile after a weekend testlaunch confirmed its combat readiness. It called the missile, capable of reaching Japan and major U.S. military bases there, an “answer” to U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies. The solid-fuel Pukguksong-2 missile flew about 500 kilometers (310 miles) and reached a height of 560
