Teaching & family Frakes began a group fitness class at the Y in 2008. The following year, she began Zumba Fitness and has been teaching it ever since. “Right at first, we started out on the stage,” Frakes said. “There was a small amount (of people), and then it kept growing and growing, and we had to take half the gym floor.” She has also been teaching Aqua Zumba in the Y pool, and started a Zumba Fitness class at Afton Fitness Center on alternating days.
