Creston’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter attended the FBLA State Fall Leadership Conference in Des Moines Sunday and Monday. Chapter Adviser Shannon Smith said the fall leadership conference was a way to introduce newer members of FBLA to the organization and showing them how they can get involved. “Hopefully it motivates them to be involved in their chapter and get ready for the state competition where we actually compete in different events,” Smith said. The state competition is held in April and students can choose from more than 80 different events to compete in, with a spot at the national convention on the line. Events include doing an activity as a chapter throughout the year and presenting a report on that

I don’t think (Amtrak is) going to be quite as flexible as what they indicated.” Some of the concerns brought up Tuesday were: the location of parking spaces, physical appearance of changes to the restored Depot, the length of the lease and whether Creston will be able to get out of the agreement if need be. “This is the first go-through on it, and there’s quite a few things to (figure out),” Taylor said.
