Southwestern Community College is hosting Pay It Forward week starting Monday. There will be events throughout the week related to “paying it forward,” a term used to describe actions a person takes to help another person or entity instead of the person who helped him or her. “Pay It Forward week is the week we dedicate at Southwestern Community College to give back,” said Beth Kulow, dean of students, “not only on our campus but in our community, to make people aware of the benefits of giving back.” Events at the Kulow college include free admission to a softball game, park clean ups, Meals from the Heartland packaging and a dance. “During the week, what we hope to accomplish is not only bringing awareness of the benefits of paying it forward, but to provide opportunities for our students to provide positive things for our community, and our community to the students on our campus,” Kulow said. Events “There are a lot of very similar activities. Every year we expand. This year I would say the organizational group that is planning Pay It Forward week is more faculty and student based, as compared to student services and staff based,”
