WASHINGTON (AP) — Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn is in discussions with the House and Senate intelligence committees on receiving Flynn immunity from “unfair prosecution” in exchange for agreeing to be questioned as part of ongoing probes into possible contacts between Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and Russia, his attorney says. “General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit,” attorney Robert Kelner said Thursday.
Kelner said no “reasonable person” with legal counsel would answer questions without assurances that he would not be prosecuted, given calls from some members of Congress that the retired lieutenant general should face criminal charges. Flynn’s ties to Russia have been scrutinized by the FBI and are under investigation by the House and Senate intelligence committees. Both committees are looking into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election and any ties between Trump associates and the Kremlin. Since July, the FBI has been conducting a counterintelligence investigation into Russia’s interference in the election and possible coordination with Trump FLYNN | 2A

BASKETBALL AT O-M? We always had good rivalries with all of the small communities because that’s what makes small-town basketball great. It’s important to everyone in the community.
College (in Hutchinson, Kansas) as the head coach there.
• WHAT ABOUT YOUR UPBRINGING
PREPARED YOU FOR DIVISION-I BASKETBALL? The state of Iowa has always produced a lot of good players and a lot of good coaches. I think the quality of the high school coaching in Iowa high school boys basketball is what creates that.
• HAVE YOU BEEN BACK RECENTLY? It’s been awhile
and my mom now lives in Urbandale, so I don’t really have as much reason to come back to Orient. And, with the life we lead as Division-I coaches, when you do get some time away, you spend it with your family.

two games in the CBI, which was the first time they’ve ever won two postseason games. We’re building a program. Anytime you have to go in somewhere and build, we have a tough first year, we got better this year and now we’re really in position to take a jump.
• WHAT HAVE YOU TAKEN FROM EACH STOP YOU’VE MADE
• WHERE DID YOU GO AFTER
IN YOUR COACHING CAREER? I think what you remember more out of the places you are in coaching is the people and the players and the relationships you build with the players. It’s been a lot of fun and met a lot of great people.
YEAR? One thing about college basketball, it’s an ever-changing game you’re in. I’m excited about next year and I think the fun part is our fans, our kids are.

TEAM THIS YEAR? We were the youngest team in the country. We literally started four freshmen all year. We had the returning player of the year. He got hurt in the eighth game of the season and we lost him for the year, and to watch a really young team overcome that was really fun to be a part of.
