Ribbon Cuttings
The Crystal Lake is always happy to host a ribbon cutting for a new business or a local business that renovated or expanded and is interested in showcasing and highlighting their new place! We bring the large ceremonial scissors and the ribbon, and we promote your event on the Chamber website and social media platforms. We also take photos of ribbon cutting ceremony and submit them to the Northwest Herald. Contact the Chamber if you are interested in promoting your business!

City Welcome
Crystal Lake certainly lives up to its motto as a “Good Place to Live” and it is also a great place to do business. The City’s economic development programs have been a catalyst for new business activity within the City’s commercial corridors and the excitement surrounding many new residential developments has also heightened interest and activity in the community. Historic Downtown Crystal Lake continues to be a shopping, dining and entertainment destination for the region, anchored by The Raue Center for the Arts, which offers an exciting lineup of entertainers and productions. Our Downtown, a premier Main Street Community, hosts many fun-filled events, including the Farmers’ Market, Johnny Appleseed Festival, Festival of Lights parade, and more. Unique shops and restaurants line Downtown’s charming streets and there is something for every member of the family in Downtown Crystal Lake.
The Three Oaks Recreation Area, with its pristine lakes and spectacular views, offers many amenities, including a beach, boat rentals for boating and fishing, hiking/biking trails, a spray park, playground, concessions, pavilions and picnic sites with grills. A scuba diving facility and wakeboard park are some of the newest amenities at the park. See our website at www.threeoaksrecreaction.com for more information. Crystal Lake is also home to events which draw regional and national attention, including the annual America’s Cardboard Cup Regatta which has been memorialized in the Library of Congress, an award winning year round Farmers Market at the Dole Mansion, and the MCYSA/ USSSA Open International Summer Baseball Championships, which brings visitors from all over the world to Crystal Lake every summer. For more information about community events, please see visitmchenrycounty.org. The Crystal Lake Park District oversees an exceptional park system and programming and works to protect open space. The recently renovated Crystal Lake Public Library circulates over 1 million items each year and is a twice-rated “Top 10 Library” in the U.S., according to Hennen’s American Public Library Ratings. With all of the good things that continue to happen in Crystal Lake, it is very important to recognize the contributions of our residents and businesses, City staff, Park Board, School Boards, Downtown Main Street, McHenry County Economic Development Corporation, and the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce. We have much to look forward to in the future.
Very truly yours,

Haig Haleblian, Mayor Ellen Brady, Councilmember Cathy A. Ferguson, Councilmember Brett Hopkins, Councilmember Cameron Hubbard, Councilmember Mandy Montford, Councilmember Ian Philpot, Councilmember Nick Kachiroubas, City Clerk
