CHAMBER READY TO RESUME SIGNATURE SUMMER EVENTS he Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce is ready to emerge from COVID restrictions into a new era of events and gatherings. “In 2020 we managed to safely hold a couple of our signature events, the outdoor ones,” said Executive Director Kevin O’Keeffe. “Granted they were smaller scale but attendees had a great time and there was no outbreak related to our events.” The Golf Extravaganza and Taste of Bolingbrook were pushed back on the 2020 calendar and had limited participants and vendors. “We are ready to return to the glory days of these fun summer events,” said O’Keeffe.
The Golf Extravaganza will once again offer food and drink booths along the course as well as in the 19th Tent. In 2019, at every other hole was a vendor providing food or beverage.
“The food, beverages, the beverage carts, the 19th hole Tent entertainment and that food and beverages is include in the cost of playing golf,” said O’Keeffe. “That what makes it extravagant; golfers will be well-fed and well-cared for on the course and after.” While 2020 was a mini-Taste, the Chamber plans to grow the 2021 Taste with more food vendors, again offering the Family Fun Zone, adding craft vendors, bringing back the beer garden and more live entertainment.

“We proved that we could safely hold a festival by being pro-active with our protocols, working closely with the Will County Health inspectors and going above and beyond with our safety measures,” said O’Keeffe. “We instituted a one-way track, had hand sanitizer every 10 feet, each picnic table had a roll of paper towels and spray sanitizer, the beer garden tables were 6 feet apart.”
