ocal nonprofit organizations impact the Bartlett area in a variety of positive and empowering ways, while serving as a reminder of the many needs in the community. Many local residents are engaged with these nonprofits, providing meaningful connections, volunteerism, and fundraising efforts to make the community even stronger.

ALIGNMENT COLLABORATIVE FOR EDUCATION

ARTS IN BARTLETT www.artsinbartlett.org

The Arts in Bartlett is an all-volunteer organization that values and supports a variety of cultural arts events to the Bartlett area to be experienced by people of all ages and backgrounds. It promotes and embraces all artistic expressions and awards an annual scholarship to graduating seniors who plan to attend college and receive a degree in the arts.

BARTLETT LION’S CLUB

The mission of the Alignment Collaborative for Education (ACE) is to align community resources and collaborate with organizations in support of public school strategies to raise student achievement; create responsible, productive, and contributing members of our society; and advance the economic and social well-being of communities served by School District U-46 in Illinois.

Bartlett Lion’s Club has a long tradition of supporting many social and public service programs. The club was chartered in 1939 and will continue to aid the community and other charities in the years to come. Key events include the golf outing, all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfasts, and the Independence Day Parade.

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide community-based voluntary organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, and advocacy.

The Bartlett Parks Foundation offers additional financial support to the Bartlett Park District for items that are not usually funded by tax dollars, such as Free To Be Me Inclusive Playground, Resident Financial Aid Scholarships, environmental educational programs, artwork, and other charitable activities.

The Bartlett Public Library Foundation provides additional revenue sources to enhance library services and capital improvements that are not financed through property taxes.

BARTLETT ROTARY CLUB

BARTLETT VETERANS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION www.bartlettveteransmemorial.com

The foundation seeks to raise funds for and oversee the construction of a monument to honor the men and women who have served our country in the Armed Forces. Dedicated in 2012, the first phase of the memorial shows a soldier mourning a fallen comrade, represented by a boot, gun, and helmet. It is surrounded by four memorial benches, a flag for each military branch, an American flag, and a walkway with engraved bricks with donors’ names. It is located at the southwest corner of Stearns and South Bartlett roads.
