Clarke County Public Health will be holding extra teen vaccine clinics this summer in July and August. Written parental consent is required. As kids get older, protection from some childhood vaccines begins to wear off and boosters are necessary to prolong protection. Boosters may be needed to protect your teen against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), meningitis, Hepatitis A and B, and HPV vaccine that protects against cancers caused by HPV. Children age 11- 18 may be eligible for vaccine from the Vaccine for Childrens program -children with Medicaid, NO health insurance or health insurance that does not cover the cost of vaccines.
