Please tell us your J story: I joined The J about six years ago, after a friend invited me and my children to the pool. A couple of years ago after having my gall bladder removed, I decided I needed a lifestyle change. Initially with the help of a personal trainer, The J has helped me lose 40 lbs. and keep it off! In addition, I have started working here as a part-time massage therapist.

What do you like about The J? There is such a wonderful atmosphere here that starts from the moment you walk in the door. From the desk staff to the floor attendants in the fitness center, everyone is warm, helpful, and encouraging. Even the support from the members I see regularly for my morning workout have meant a lot to me through my weight loss journey. I like that it is a very family oriented place. I can be working out, my kids can hit the pool, or we can all do one of their family programs together.

Visit ShawJCC.org for a complete list of Group Exercise classes. Many classes are FREE for our members.
