About the Tournament
Support the J, give back to the community The J is far beyond a workout facility. It’s a caring community that inspires values. It’s a place to meet new friends and set your family on a path to wellness. It’s like a second home to many who come through our doors whether it’s for health and wellness, youth programs and Camp JCC, the Mandel Early Childhood Education Center or adults and Jewish programs. We bring thousands of men, women, children, seniors and families of all faiths and backgrounds together every day to enjoy exceptional programming and services that are available to all. The Shaw JCC annual Golf Outing is one of the largest golf tournaments in Akron. Past attendees look forward to our tournament each year for the value they personally receive, the enjoyment they get from a well-run event and for the support they provide to the Shaw JCC and its diverse range of services that it provides to the residents of West Akron, Copley, Fairlawn and Bath communities. Who attends? The event traditionally attracts more than 120 men and women who are among the most active in the Akron business community.
About the Golf Course Silver Lake Country Club is a private golf course that meanders through 120 acres of quintessential golf terrain. With a variety of large, well-trapped greens, doglegs, large trees and water hazards the course provides a challenging and memorable experience for golfers of all skill levels. Par-72, 18hole golf course measuring 6,712 yards.
Invitation to Sponsor As a mission-driven organization we count on fundraisers like the Golf Outing to help us deliver top-notch services to the community. Sponsorships, grants and donations account for 50 percent of our budget and are critical for our ability to provide the services our community relies upon. Because the Shaw JCC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, your generous donation is tax deductible.
