A light wood reinforces that feeling of more space, as the hues create the illusion of a bigger room. “This color wood is uplifting and easy to design around, creating a slightly more modern look—even in cozy and comfortable spaces” says Modsy’s VP of style, Alessandra Wood.

ueled by increased buyer demand, low inventory, and near historic interest rates, home prices are on the rise and sellers may receive multiple offers. You would think that environment would make any deal a “sure thing,” right? Well, not as far as an appraiser is concerned.

Any deal that involves a mortgage requires an evaluation from an independent appraiser who needs to validate the contract value. The validation requires a detailed comparison of homes that have sold similar to the home being appraised.

With fewer sales and quickly escalating prices, comparisons There are ways have become more difficult and the frequency of appraisals to refute a low coming in below contract value has risen.
