DESIGN TRENDS: What’s Hot for 2020 As the new year begins, most of us look to renew ourselves by making changes. One way to do that is to alter your surroundings. Revamping your home can make you feel refreshed. Even small changes can rejuvenate your spirit and inspire you to take on the rest of your resolutions. I love taking inspiration from designer forecast trends. Designers are incorporating silver, gold, tin, and copper but suggest not mixing more than three metals in one space, or your decor could become too overwhelming for one room. Silver and brown metals will work well together, like iron and gold or bronze. n

HOUSING MARKET 2020: Trends to Watch

wo trends are predicted to shape the U.S. housing market in 2020—Millennials are anticipated to be the single biggest driver and home buyers of all ages will trend toward areas with more affordable lifestyles according to an economic forecast published by Realtor.com. Millennials are defined as the group of individuals born between 1981 and 1997 and 4.8 million of them are turning 30 in 2020, a time when many people purchase their first home. According to the report, they are expected to take on more than half of all new mortgages next year, outnumbering Generation X and Baby Boomers combined.
