BACHELOR OF BUILDING SCIENCE

Jun 2021 - Jun 2024

I am a fourth year architecture student at Chandigarh College of Architecture.

My journey begin from the narrow lanes of Varanasi , a city which is considered older than history. I found myself lostin the blend of ancient temples, narrow winding alleys, grand ghats, and Mughal-influenced palaces. That is what introduced me to design spaces and tell stories that shapes future.

For me Architecture is a combination of spatial awareness, structural expertise, and understanding of society.

What fascinates me is its interdisciplinary nature, involving collaboration, creative thinking, and problem-solving. Working as a team to design and develop thoughtful solutions that shape meaningful spaces for people is both inspiring and rewarding.

Perish or Adapt ?

120 Hours / Competition

Group of 3

The competation brought a unique challange to build new National Art Museum in Andorra which also promotes culture in Andorra.

A culture which is not constantly evolving to adapt to new societal changes tends to fade away.Culture sustains itself as some of its elements persist by blending with modern influence or finding new relevence in comtemporary life .

As keeping this thought in mind and tried our hand on the vision of Ephameral Architecture. A design which keeping changing itself with the ever changing social norms and modern life.

As culture is not a static entity, why should the architecture representing it be?

The museum divided ito multiple modules taking influence from Paper Origami, bu just appling force on either ends, the structure shifts its shape creating new volumes and experiences.

PERISH ADAPT

Today the scale and pace of contemporary Urbanism challenging the notion of Permanance as a basic condition for architecture.

Finding solutions in Temporary way rather than locking ourself into as Absolute solution quickly because we are reacting to a crises today which might not be a crises in the future.

The point for architecture is to Dissolve into our popular culture as quickly as possible. Our imagination of permanance should also Accomodate more of the Temporary.

The understanding is to Change the structure at perticular interval so that we can bring Uniqueness into the form and function ot it.

The museum can Transform itself to accomodate a single large exhibition and also Multiple exhibitions ,giving a different expirience within the spaces and Altering the overall form.

The musuem also gives a backfrop for a Plaza intentially left beneath it to provide space, Encouraging cultural activities taking place alltogether to create the Bilbao Effect.

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives , not the most intelligent . It is the one that it most adaptable to changes.“
-Charles Darwin

VARIANTS

The manipulation of the building mass is to overcome the permance outlook of the structure and create fluidity in volumns to better adapt to varing nessacities and possiblilities in the near future.

Multi-Specility Hospital

Hospital design / Studio Project

Mohali,Punjab

Solo Project

Located in Mohali is designed to be a blueprint for the hospital of the future,a place where healthcare meets innovation. Its sculptural and striking design isn’t just about aesthetics; it creates a new landmark on the city’s skyline while shaping a space that truly puts people at the center.

Uniqueness in design comes from its flexibility, the spaces can adapt and evolve to meet the changing needs of patients and medical advancements.

Natural light floods the interiors, offering calm, open spaces with soothing views that help in the healing process. From patient rooms to waiting areas, everything is designed to feel welcoming, comfortable, and stress-free for patients, their families, and even the doctors and nurses working there.

A key feature of the hospital’s design is its terracotta cladding, which enhances both aesthetics and performance. This natural, breathable material helps regulate indoor temperatures, reducing reliance on artificial cooling and contributing to energy efficiency.

Pavilion Design

Annual NASA Design Competition

Sector 17, Chandigarh

Group Project

This circular pavilion embodies principles of sustainability, inclusivity, and community engagement. The form symbolizes unity and seamless gathering, inviting visitors to participate in diverse activities within a fluid, adaptable spatial layout.

Key architectural features include the innovative use of kulhads (traditional earthen cups) as breathable wall elements, arranged to form dynamic partition systems. These lightweight, porous components provide visual texture, creating a permeable yet defined enclosure. This inventive approach reduces waste and highlights the aesthetic potential of reused materials, bridging cultural heritage and contemporary design.

The pavilion stands as a tangible example of thoughtful, resource-conscious architecture. It fosters community connections while raising awareness of the possibilities inherent in upcycled materials. This project invites visitors to engage with both the space and its message — inspiring a deeper appreciation for sustainable design solutions.

Dharamalaya Workshop

Adobe Brick Workshop

Bir, Uttrakhand

Escaping to the foothills of the Himalayas for an adobe workshop in Bir was exactly what I needed. The endless hustle of city life faded into the background as I found myself surrounded by fresh air, open landscapes, and a group of passionate, creative people.

The first time I sank my hands into a mix of earth, straw, and water to make adobe bricks, I felt a strange connection to the land. It was messy, tactile, and incredibly fulfilling. I learned how these simple materials, when shaped with care, could form beautiful, strong, and sustainable structures.

But it wasn’t just about bricks. We explored the vernacular architecture of the region thoughtfully designed buildings that naturally fit into the landscape. The idea of creating spaces with low embodied energy suddenly felt more real, not just something I’d read about in textbooks.

What stood out most was the sense of community. We weren’t just building structures, we were building friendships and learning from each other’s stories, mistakes, and ideas. There was laughter, hard work, and shared meals under the stars.

I left Bir with dirt under my nails, a renewed sense of purpose, and a deeper love for architecture that respects both people and the planet
