SPACE PLAN / DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Wayfinding is a crucial aspect of design as it directly impacts how people perceive and navigate through an environment. The ease with which individuals can move through a space has a direct effect on their overall experience and perception of the design as a whole.

This corridor has been thoughtfully designed to incorporate repeated horizontal elements, including a clear and consistent signage and numbering system. This intentional design feature not only enhances the overall aesthetic of the space but also serves to aid in wayfinding and navigation for those using the corridor.

The suite features two bays with cubicle curtains, two stretcher beds and large recliners, portable equipment side tables, a mayo stand, a doctor’s stool, and a bariatric side chair in each bay. The suite is a separate space with no windows, ensuring privacy and minimizing distractions.

ukiyo 浮 世

Ukiyo Katakana draws inspiration from the traditional Japanese art movement Ukiyo-e, which embodies the concept of “living in the moment” and being detached from the daily struggles of life. The name “Ukiyo” itself means “the floating world,” emphasizing the ephemeral and fleeting nature of life that is captured in Ukiyo-e art.

The boutique hotel’s design is thoughtfully crafted to embrace the stunning natural surroundings of Joshua Tree, utilizing organic materials and rich earthy tones to highlight the desert landscape. Additionally, the inclusion of Japanese design elements, which incorporate natural materials and patterns of light and space, results in a unique and harmonious aesthetic that seamlessly blends with the natural environment.

Our primary objective is to offer guests an immersive and transformative experience that cultivates a sense of well-being and alleviates stress. We strive to create a serene and rejuvenating environment that positively influences our guests’ outlook and everyday life, leaving them with a renewed and refreshed state of mind.
