ophomore Jamar Graham has emerged as a state-championship caliber quarterback for the Saints and in the 27-6 semifinal victory against Appling County, Graham passed for three touchdowns to ensure another trip to the finals. Rashod Dubinion – an Arkansas-commit – is a 5-10, 185-pound threestar running back that scored on a 5-yard run against Appling. He is speedy and difficult to tackle. Cedar Grove holds an 8-1 edge in the series against Carver, which dates to 1990. The teams played each season from 1991 to 1997 and then didn’t meet again until last season. The closest margin of victory for Cedar Grove against Carver was the 17-0 victory this year. Carver enjoyed a forfeit victory last season against Cedar Grove, but the Panthers have never outscored them. The Saints have beaten White County (79-0), Southeast Bulloch (48-10), Crips County (28-6) and Appling to earn the berth in the title game.
he Panther's path to the title game has impressive and after going through Region 5 with one loss – to Cedar Grove – Carver defeated North Hall (56-17), Liberty County (53-6), Burke County (46-14) and Pierce County (19-17) on the road. Carver’s stalwart in the playoffs has been Quintavious Lockett who scored on runs 5, 2 and 1 yard to lift the Panthers past Pierce County in the semifinals, finishing with 15 carries for 135 yards. The 5-foot-11, 230-pound senior back rushed for two touchdowns in Carver’s quarterfinals victory over Burke County. Senior back Jarveous Brown has 144 carries for 1,490 yards and eight touchdowns. Quarterback Bryce Bowens was 6-of-10 passing for 255 yards and three touchdowns against Burke County. He is 67-of-105 passing for 1,473 yards and 14 touchdowns on the season. Deandre Buchannon has 24 receptions for 560 yards and seven touchdowns to lead receivers.
