As nervous as I was to take this trip, I could hear the still voice of God tell me that a women’s group was necessary. Not only would it be necessary for others but for me as well. It was time to start the healing process from my past. My pains were for me in that season. But in this season my pains are for the woman that is hurting and feels like no one understands what she is going through.

That also came with being raised by a single mother whose life was a challenge, but mom always found a way to show us love to the best of her ability even though we didn't have much, we had each other as a family, things you take for granted when you’re a teenager.

We were raised one block away from my grandmother, so we never saw the inside of a daycare. Myself and my cousins I, at this time, were all getting dropped off at grandma's before school if you didn't live there already and

By this time, I was on drugs and in high school and hid it very well. I was spending time in Mexico on the weekend and at home during the week. Had a child at the sweet age of 18 and no one knew I was pregnant till I was 8 months along, Go figure! This is when my life began to change.

We were close I saw her every day. She watched both my

children during their adolescent years. Around the time she passed, I was in one of the darkest places in my life. I was only managing for the sake of my kids. But even that part was the bare minimum. Her passing was my last draw. I felt like a force of protection had been torn down and I was in the world naked. As I was writing her obituary and praying through that process God came to me in the moment of my surrender. God showed me that I was next up. He showed me that writing and verbal communication is part of my divine purpose. He showed me that I would be the change in my family and in this world.

My writing in this devotional reading is me being obedient and stepping out on my active faith. I will spark a flame in the minds and hearts of those whose light is dim. I am here to ignite a new concept to God’s unchanging word through the experiences of life that ‘Had To Happen.’ This is the beginning. All glory to God you will see my name again doing more of my Father’s business.

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away (…). Because he is a hired hand, he cares nothing for the sheep" John 10 vs 11-13 I read an article by

Peter S Heslam,

brought great thought to me on the fact that Jesus is himself like unto a shepherd, therefore, also resembling himself a business owner. He used the word ‘owner’ deliberately in his article, and that it is what the passage above says that Jesus does. Indeed, his analogy rests on the distinction between a business owner and a business employee; because the ‘hired hand’ does not own the sheep, and he does not care sufficiently for the sheep to guard them against a danger that threatens his own personal safety.

According to his article, Jesus’ analogy also relies on two liberating yet challenging truths about ownership. First, with ownership comes responsibility. He explained that Jesus is drawing here on the wisdom that undergirds the Hebrew Torah.
