1130 Chesapeake Ave The Jones House The Jones House was built in 1885 by John Jones, a post civil war contractor, who also built the Tilly Mansion on Chesapeake Avenue. The Jones House is an Eastlake/ Stick Victorian with Queen Anne impression. You can tell this by the mirror image roof line, fancy prism glass and scroll gable ends. On the inside it is evident by the gilded slate fire place mantels, the Windsor hardware and herring bone great floor. During our restoration, we were able to determine that the house had multiple colors. We found windows that were red, cladboard that was blue on dark blue, natural stained doors, and green gables. We have attempted to restore it as close to natural as possible.

Listed at $248,500 (list of upgrades and improvements page 10)

BEFORE

Living Rooms

Living rooms often referred to as the front room or sitting room are intended to be used for relaxing and socializing. Quiet entertaining is what the owners had in mind when they restored and decorated the room. With two working fireplaces and worn hardwood floors, the owners restored the hardwood, transformed the fireplaces with a salvage find of two beautiful wood mantels that they had completely restored and refinished. They enjoy evenings listening to the soft sounds of the grand piano and chatting with neighbors.
