CAESARSTONE PROJECT ADAPTIVE REUSE OF SITE Drawing from the Concept of Adaptive Re-use, the V&A Waterfront looked to reactivate the Collier Jetty as it straddles the tourist driven industry provided by the Waterfront mall and The Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island and the industrial function of boat repair at the Fish quay and several marine and logistical industries. This project serves to honour the hardworking women and men of Cape Town to create a space that defines south African culture and elevate their roles in the city…..

ENCLOSU RE PRETORIA ZOO BLACK PANTHER LIVING SPACE E The architecture of animalia has long fascinated architects and designers for many years. In exploring the architecture of the senses and the core inherit nature of the panthers behaviour in the natural world, a space that embodies the aspects of the panther is fabricated. Here, the panther roams free and the human becomes the enclosed species that views the beauty of the panther. Man becomes prey within the magnificoes of the predator..

As designers, we draw and control the porosity of the boundaries that manifest in our cities, often while overlooking the systems of exchange and cycles already inherent and functioning. Interfaces are about territory, opportunity, resources, value exchange, dialogue, etc.

Understanding urban interfaces is about understanding both the tangible and intangible layers, the traces of the often-violent memories of a site and the sensory and emotive experiences of bodies in their worlds.

Marabi Jazz Centre is a space that celebrates the lost culture of the marabi people in Marabastad due to the relocations act. Here we celebrate the voices of those who could not speak with a learning space that aims to celebrate education through communication and music. This multi-generational centre utilizes the existing skills and talents of the people on site to be the cornerstone of an experience of an architecture that one learns from as it is being constructed……….
