Great-grandpa Luigi Scaramelli Sr. begins importing olive oil to New York and Boston, and the Paesana brand is introduced
Launch of the Table Joy brand and focus on manufacturing under the name L&S Packing Co.
The L&S journey began in 1902, when Luigi Scaramelli Sr. began importing olive oil and selling it in Boston and New York. Over the years, the company expanded to include tomatoes and cheese, eventually adding premium condiments and items such as , peppers and olives. These high-quality condiments are still very much of the Paesana story.
In 1946, L&S focused on manufacturing private label goods throughout the New York region under the name L&S Packing Co.— including domestic and imported olives. Grandma Rosina would call olives “the Joy of the Table” — so they felt Table Joy was a fitting name for their first brand.
Nearly half a century later, in honor of our Great-Grandfather Scaramelli, the Paesana label was rebranded and introduced to the retail market.
As Paesana continued to grow and prosper, L&S added a premium line of USDA Organic, Non-GMO verified Asian sauces under the Asian Fusion label in 2016. Not long after, L&S moved into a second location in Amityville, NY for inventory and future manufacturing which would include refrigerated goods.
In 2020, Walmart sought out L&S for a quality line of pasta sauce to satisfy increased consumer demand. While the Table Joy brand has been popular in the food service industry for decades—it was the obvious choice to add to retail stores. Table Joy was given a new look!
Moving into 2021 L&S acquired two new iconic consumer labels—Gold’s Brand and Fox’s U-bet. These two brands are a fitting addition to the L&S family of brands.

Fox’s U-Bet syrups and toppings are a favorite in making the New York classic egg cream soda or the perfect ice cream sundae, milk shake and sweet treat. When L&S began focusing on private label manufacturing in 1946, it was only natural they would soon pack under their own label. The name for this new brand was inspired by Grandma Scaramelli. At home, she was famous for calling olives “The Joy of the Table”—so Table Joy was a fitting name for their first brand.
The Table Joy brand has supported the retail and foodservice industries for decades, and in 2020 it was time to re-brand for the retail sector as there was an increase in demand for shelf-stable consumable goods.

We chop, preserve and prepare our capers, olives and garnishes on premises to ensure the finest quality products for your establishment.
