Logo Anatomy
The new logo has been well crafted to be balanced and consistent on the structure and proportion. The measurement of the logo is determined by the x-height, which is derived from a unit of the graphic mark. The form of the wordmark base on the typeface Gotham Black Italic and alters into the same degree of inclination with the symbol. There are two official formats that the logo may be used for distinct purposes depending on the design situations to more accurately reflect the values, ambitions, and different characteristics of the new CBGB. The two components can also be divided into a graphic mark or a wordmark individually.
14
In the secondary logo, the graphic mark is slightly different from the primary logo. The tail end of the lighting bolt is retained in the secondary format in order to enhance the visual balance and interest of the identity.

SHARP GROTESK SEMIBOLD 24 As a sans-serif typeface that is swiss style collides with the unexpected construction and wonky imperfectionism of 20th-century American wood type, Sharp Grotesk is a wonderful choice for the unconventional and innovative vibe of the new CBGB. Its exuberant personality, ink traps, and an incredible range of moods well interpret the artistic and stylish charateristic that we try to convey to our audiences. We chose the semibold 24 weight of the Sharp Grotesk family for our headers and quotes usage.
GILROY Gilroy is a modern sans serif typeface with geometric shapes that has high legibility in any weight and size. The neutral and contemporary feeling in Gilroy benefits to pairing with other fonts which has stronger characteristics. That is why we chose it for the usage of subheaders, body copy, and citation.
