Terms and Conditions

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of dispute the auctioneer’s decision will be final.

Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Certificate of Registration:

Each animal will carry papers issued by the applicable breed association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

All announcements at sales time, written or oral, supersede any written material in the catalogue.

Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the applicable breed association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

Sale Day Draw:

There will be two draws taking place on sale day. One draw for a $500 Sales Credit that will include all of the buyer numbers obtained at the Northern Livestock Sales in Lloydminster on Feb 9, 2026. The second draw for another $500 Sales Credit will include all of the registered bidders from DLMS on Feb 9, 2026. These sales credits are to be used only at the 14th Annual Premier Hereford and Angus Bull Sale on any sale lot including the open and bred heifers.

Welcome to the 14th Annual Premier Hereford and Angus Bull Sale.

A big thank you to everyone who has attended, bid or purchased at our past sales. We truly appreciate your support It certainly is a great time to be in the cattle business and we are optimistic we can enjoy this environment for a long while yet.

This year we are proud to offer polled and horned 2 year old bulls, as well as, a purebred horned female. We will also have a strong set of F1 open black baldie heifer calves.

These animals are bred with the traits in mind that matter most, docility, fertility, longevity, feed conversion, hair and crossbreeding versatility. The service sires used were selected for their rib shape, foot and leg structure, calving ease for our heifers and udder quality passed to the females. We look for cattle that can convert feed to meat easily.

This heifer comes from a cow we purchased from Norm Parrent. We added Nickelback and now 141J. She will have a neat udder with small teats and good milk flow. She was bred to LBHD 82H and should calve towards the end of Feb. If this calving date doesn’t work for the buyer, we will take her home and deliver her after she calves.

We would like to welcome everyone back to the sale barn again this year! We are excited to show you this years line up of bulls and the kind of animals we strive to breed for. These are the last of our Evaluator bulls. We believe this is a very consistent set of bulls again this year. They are all very similar in style, shape, pigment and temperament. The bulls were on pasture graze until October 28 when we brought them home. With being able to graze late into the fall again this year our bulls are carrying less condition and more natural muscle. Since they have been home they are being fed barley green feed and are on rolled oats and barley chop. The weaning weights in the foot notes are actual weights taken Nov. 15.

We showed 3 head at the Alberta Hereford Showcase this fall in Red Deer. We had a great show bringing home ribbons with every animal. Our daughter Kaydee showed a heifer, Ace Principal Las 5N, again this year in the Junior show winning second in class. She had a lot of fun and made great memories to bring home with her ribbon. Both of our yearling bulls, 14M and 5M, placed in the largest ribeye part of the carcass competition coming in first and second! This is what our program is about. We strive to build the thickest, deepest, longest, most structurally correct, easy to handle cattle that will produce offspring with high quality carcasses. After all we are raising them to be the best beef possible which means the more meat on them the more money in your pocket!

As we do every year, the bulls have been semen tested, they are tie broke and have been clipped to get them looking sharp for pictures. As always we will bring them home sale day and deliver them to our buyers or make arrangements for delivery. This dark cherry red bull is extremely quiet and took no time to break to lead. He was shown in Red Deer at the Alberta Hereford Showcase where he was appreciated for his muscle mass and body style. He had the second largest ribeye in the carcass competition.

This Evaluator son is our pick of bulls. “Billy” as we call him at home, is a great natured quiet bull that we showed last year as a calf and again this year as a yearling bull at the Alberta Hereford Showcase. Welcome to the Premier Sale! This year we were grateful to have good crops and a warm fall to get extra jobs done! We attended the Hereford Showcase in Red Deer again this year. It is always nice to talk with other cattle producers and long time friends. The kids made their way into the showring and we were fortunate to win the Grand Champion Bull in the Best of the West Sale!

Cattle prices have been strong and are continuing to trend upward. It is a great time to be in the cattle business whether you are expanding your herd with some replacement females or adding a top caliber bull to your breeding stock. We always appreciate our loyal customers for standing behind us and believing in our program. It is truly the reason we continue to produce top genetic and long lasting cattle. We stand behind each of our sale animals 100% so we hope that gives you a sense of comfort when bidding and purchasing. If something were to go wrong, please let us know and we will do our best to assist!

Calves are weaned without any creep feed and yearlings have been pastured on grass through the summer and fall. Our cattle have not been pushed because we believe that in order to sustain longevity, they need to be developed at a natural rate. Our cattle perform well under these natural conditions and therefore will smoothly transition into their new environment after they are sold.

We are excited for this years offerings and feel that they will make an impact on the breed. We have listed actual weaning and yearling weights on our sale cattle. We believe that these weights are a more accurate representation than an adjusted weight that also factors the cows age into the equation. Weaning weights were taken November 14, 2024 and yearling weights were taken April 16, 2025. All sale bulls have passed their semen check in November. Delivery is free in the Western provinces. What an exciting time to be in the cattle industry! Record prices for cattle and for the most part plenty of rain and feed to go around. Both our kids are growing great with Jameson now 3 and Saige turned 1, a very proud moment came when she said her first word “cow”.

This year we are excited to offer a great group of angus bulls featuring a large group of calving ease bulls and power bulls in both black and red. In addition to the bulls we also have an outstanding group of true F1 Hereford cross Angus heifers and straight Hereford heifers. The black baldie heifers aren’t called the princess of the prairies for nothing, I truly believe they are the best females you can make.

This year will mark the second calf crop of our herd sire, Belvin Jigsaw 69J. This young sire was brought in to add to the calving ease part of the herd and boy did he do that. In three calf crop to date he’s sons have an average birthweight of 76 pounds and have plenty of jam afterwards. This bull is a female making machine and his sons will be too!

When it comes to purchasing a Lock bull, our main goal is to ensure your cows are covered. If a bull goes down prior to or mid breeding season, make sure we are your first call. We can work with you to get another semen tested bull to your yard to cover your cows.

Like previous years, we brought in Shane Castle, Mark Forsyth and Brennan Schachtel with Castlerock Marketing to assist with any questions about the bulls or heifers we have on offer. Both have toured the cow herd and are very knowledgeable about what we have on offer with both the Angus and Herefords.
