to the Chinook Harvest Sale which is shaping up to be another high quality sale brought to you by high quality breeders that are excited about the Angus breed and what it has to offer. 2025 is proving to be a very exciting time with new highs being set in the cattle industry every day, feed is plentiful and very cost effective. One thing that remains a constant is the fact that there is always a a market for quality cattle! But, when you get to the high markets the level in which the high quality come in demand is at another level, quality always pays. With the cow herd at a record low not seen in decades and the look to expansion doesn’t appear to be on the horizon just yet makes for an interesting scenario. The opportunity to have a higher quality product and a higher percentage of the cattle in the system is present, droughts make for good herds and the lesser quality cattle have found their way to town. With that this gives you the buyer to keep the bar up on raising the good ones for a healthy bull market and we will see how far these good commercial markets become for bred replacement females this fall. If you’ve made it this far in the cattle business be sure to hold your head up high for being in the business and reaping the rewards, thank you for your dedication and supplying this great industry with the greatest product in Canada…..BEEF!
The sale boasts an array of genetics and breeding options for you, heifer calves that could stand some competition, bred heifers carrying the next piece in the genetic puzzle as well as some exciting semen and embryo opportunities going forward. Be sure to stop by and view the sale cattle either on Friday, October 10th or at anytime on Saturday leading up to the sale and see what this group of consignors have brought to town, you won’t be disappointed!
See you sale day!

DONATIONFLEMING STOCK FARMS
Fleming Stock Farms & the Fleming Family are proud to donate the Southern Alberta Angus Club’s Donation Heifer for 2025. We have had a relationship with SAAC and its members for decades when we first facilitated the members Angus Bulls at the Fleming Bull Development Center here at our Granum location starting in the early 80’s. Back in the day very few Angus Breeders had their own production sales and SAAC was the
group who promoted and sold bulls as a collective group. We ourselves have also been members for decades and we are now into our 3rd generation of Angus Enthusiasts. Prior to feeding bulls for the members of SAAC, Duncan worked with and traded help with countless Angus Breeders while running his Fleming Fitting Service. SAAC was and still is today, the driving force behind the Chinook Sale. Again, in the early years very few Angus Breeders had female production sales and SAAC seen a need to support and promote the Angus females of its members.
Over the decades SAAC and its membership have been the driving force behind Angus promotion in Southern Alberta. We have supported and have been a part of SAAC’s great Angus programs, promotions and fellowship over the years in programs such as; Angus Tours, Angus Field Days, SAAC Bull Tests & Sales, SAAC Angus Queen program, the Lethbridge Exhibition Fall Show, the great Steak Fry’s at the Southern Alberta Auction Markets in the Fall Run, decades of Chinook Sales, SAAC Cowboy Classic Golf Scramble, the Donation Heifer Fundraiser, SAAC collaborates with CAA & AAA to facilitate the Medicine Hat Pen Show Steak Tasting, hosted the CAA Convention in Lethbridge, participation in the Canadian Angus Foundation Legacy Sale, various events & programs of the Alberta Angus Association & the Canadian Angus Association, the SAAC AGM and Annual Banquet & Christmas Silent Auction. SAAC has been dedicated over the years in growing the Angus Breed with various youth programs through their support such as; the Junior Discount Program, support for the Alberta Junior Angus Heifer Show in Bashaw, the Chinook Junior Stock Show in Claresholm, the Taber Junior Show and SAAC’s commitment to donate annually to the CAA Foundation’s Dick Turner Scholarship Fund to keep the scholarship alive in perpetuity. Over the decades our Southern Alberta Angus Youth have gone on to be the breeders and leaders of today. It is our families wish through this year’s donation heifer, “to ensure the Angus Youth of today with SAAC’s support, will be the breeders & leaders of tomorrow”.
Fleming 501 Flora is a fancy feminine heifer calf that will make a great addition to anyone’s herd. Her dam Fleming 141 Flora is a functional broody female. 501 is sired by Kesslers Commodore 6516 who is the sire of our consigned choice lots in this sale. Kesslers Commodore 6516 is an outcross pedigree that ranks high for weaning weight, yearling weight, carcass merit, scrotal, calving ease, maternal calving ease & milk. A heifer calf full of positive traits!!
Please support the 2025 Southern Alberta Angus Club’s primary fundraising project through the Donation Heifer Program. Through this fundraiser it allows SAAC to continue to promote Angus, support Angus at events, support Angus youth and facilitates fellowship amongst Angus Purebred & Commercial Breeders.

LOT 1A - FLEMING STOCK FARMS
Offering choice on these Full Sisters – Lot #1A FSF 409M & Lot 1B FSF 505N, out of Fleming Miss Essence of Crank and Kesslers Commodore 6516. You always want females in your herd that out produce themselves and Fleming Miss Essence of Crank is doing just that. A moderate female who is feminine, structurally correct, good uddered and who gives her all to her calves. Their sire, Kesslers Commodore 6516 is an outcross pedigree that ranks high for weaning weight, yearling weight, carcass merit, scrotal, calving ease, maternal calving ease & milk.
409M will make a feminine picture-perfect brood cow, that is flawless from the ground up. She is free moving, big footed and structurally correct. We love the natural power, stoutness and the overall dimension that she offers from every angle of evaluation.
409 is very docile and was shown successfully as a calf at multiple junior shows. Perhaps the most exciting part of this bred female is the calf she is carrying, out of “Fleming 405 Executive Decision”. 405 is a powerful Executive Decision son that we retained out of our 2024 Medicine Hat Reserve Champion Pen of 3 Bulls.

e Exposed to to Fleming Executive Decision

505N is a well-balanced fancy sweetheart of a heifer with lots of eye appeal. She is a massive bodied, wide pinned female that is bold and robust in her makeup. We love the extreme stoutness, mass and dimension that she possesses while maintaining a very feminine and lady like look from the side. 505 is a structurally correct, sweet fronted female that would make great addition to your herd as well as an excellent show prospect.

A heifers first calf here and what a great job she did When you go through the pasture she is the one that always seems to catch your eye. On the dams side is a pedigree packed with great producing sires like Border Butte Blaster 305E and RB Tour of Duty 177, On the sires side Pine View Vezina is a stout deep easy calving bull we have used very successfully on both cows and heifers.

LOT 7 - BAR DOUBLE M
This heifer boasts more then a sterling pedigree but we will start with dissecting that first. Convoy was an embryo purchase we made which more then blew us away, in fact it was enough that Wheeler Stock Farm bought a share in Convoy to walk their pastures as well! We know all about Annie Oakley and with 51 progeny credited to date, that story will continue to unfold! The dam side of this calf wields the famous Blockanna cow family coming from Wilbar Farms which since coming to Bar Double M has been very productive! We not only want to buy the good cattle we want to sell the good ones too!
LOT 8 - FIREWORK CATTLE CO
We are honoured to be participating in this year’s Chinook Harvest Sale yet again! Our consignment this year comes from our most recent addition to our herd. We purchased the dam of this heifer calf at last year’s Red Round Up sale from our friends at Reverse GC, and we couldn’t be more ready for another exciting fall. Our heifer calf, Ginger 25N, comes from an exciting and proven pedigree. She combines the influence of the renowned Lauryn cow family from TerRon with the strength of Six Mile’s Stealth bull. Her sire is a calving ease specialist, previously acquired by Chelsea and her family from Watson, and has
proven his value in their program. Backed by exceptional genetics, strong foot structure, and impressive phenotype in a moderate frame, this heifer offers both style and function. We are confident she will be a productive and valuable asset in any program.
