SWASTYSA WELLNESS CENTER

Type : Thesis

Semester: 10

Site : Semmencheri, Chennai, India

To design a wellness center ,within city limits, to be accessible to all ages. The aim of the design was to create a space where personal and social well-being can be promoted through a therapeutic environment and architectural language

03

WHAT?

In today’s generation, people suffer from increasing stress and heightened anxiety. Mental well-being is just as important as physical fitness, but it can be difficult to maintain it without the right resources

A wellness center is a place where both mind and body can be healed.

WHERE?

Chennai is one of the big cities with a high productivity rate, which leads to a stressed life, according to NCRB data.

The reasons:

-Large out-migration from rural areas

-Drug addiction

-Domestic violence

-Debt cycle

-Internalise their feelings instead of expressing them

SITE ANALYSIS:

The selected site is located in Semmencheri, which is 30 km away from the city centre, but within the city limits. It is close to various multinational companies and institutions that may be of use to the targeted users.

The site is well connected to the city through the OMR road, which can help promote medical and wellness tourism

Accessibility:
