Public Relations, Grants, and Web Specialist Klezmer Music Foundation, Skokie, IL, September 2016- May 2017 Scheduled rehearsals for the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band and The Salaam-Shalom Music Project. Assisted the Foundation director in grant writing and other applications. Managed and updated the Foundation’s website. Promoted upcoming events and performances through writing and sending out press releases, PSAs for radio shows, and calendar events for local press.
Catapult Program Coordinator Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival, Chicago, IL, January 2017 Planned transportation, meals, and programming for The Catapult, a professional development program for artists and puppeteers as part of the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival. Accompanied and guided twenty two artists around the city during four days of puppet shows, workshops, and symposiums.
Puppet Fabricator Lookingglass Theatre, Chicago, IL, November 2016- December 2016 Worked on two different large scale puppets designed by Puppet Designer Blair Thomas for Lookingglass Theater’s original show, Mr. and Mrs. Pennyworth. Created a large portion of a giant boar’s outer structure with rattan caning. Dyed fabric and applied to puppet to create the body mass. Applied “fur” to a giant wolf puppet.
Designer, Writer, and Creator “Hero”, Bennington, VT, March 2015- May 2016
Wrote, produced, and performed an original outdoor processional puppet show with a cast of twenty nine people, including three musicians, and over ten giant puppets. Acted as the Storyteller, guiding an audience of over 200 people from one end of Bennington College’s campus to the other. Led five public workshops in puppet building during the show creation process, and taught a six week puppet building class for eight middle school students in preparation for the show.
Puppet Fabricator Bob’s Discount Furniture, Manchester, CT, January 2016-February 2016 Built and poured silicone and latex molds, and constructed parts of a stop-motion animation puppet. Helped create props for the company’s commercials shown on national television. Wrangled puppets and provided props on set with commercial shootings.
