STARBUCKS TO CLOSE FIVE SEATTLE STORES AMID UNIONIZATION EFFORTS SWU calls bullshit
by Mike Andrew SGN Staff Writer Starbucks announced on July 11 that it would close five Seattle stores on July 31. Two of those stores have unionized, and there is active union organizing going on the in remaining three. Starbucks says it needs to close the stores because neighborhood crime makes them unsafe for its employees. The employees say this is another one of the company’s union-busting tactics.

Your guide to creating Bi visibility in monogamous relationships
6 ways to express your Bisexuality other than having a threesome
What's with those crazy nuns? A brief history of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence

by Isabel Mata SGN Contributing Writer After exclusively dating men and secretly making out with girls for the majority of my life, I finally decided to come out and embrace my Bisexuality at age 22 after I got out of a disastrous heteronormative relationship. There were numerous other factors that stalled this milestone, including internalized biphobia
and the double discrimination that Bisexuals experience from both the heterosexual and Queer communities. But when I finally was ready to shout “I am Bi!” from the rooftops, I was faced with a plethora of new challenges related to biphobia that I had yet to experience, especially given that I was in a long-term relationship with a man.

by Sister Alleva Marx Special to the SGN Have you seen the crazy nuns out on Capitol Hill? They are members of the Abbey of Saint Joan, our local chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a global organization of charity-minded nuns dedicated to spreading joy and benevolence in their fabulously habited wakes. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence was
founded in San Francisco in 1979 by three men ready to challenge the homophobic world. Ken Bunch (Sister Vicious PHB), Fred Brungard (Sister Missionary Position), and Baruch Golden went through the streets and down to a popular nude beach in full, traditional habits. One even carried a machine gun for protection. They were met with shock and amazement but captured widespread interest.
