This is the workshop, first offered in 1972 and continuously updated, that began a new era in training for nonprofit agencies. Designed for both novice and experienced grant seekers, the Grantsmanship Training Program® is a comprehensive workshop that covers researching funding sources and writing and reviewing real proposals. The program will teach you to use The Grantsmanship Center’s® proposal writing format, the most widely used in the world. During the workshop you will search out funding sources and you will develop a proposal for your own agency or help a classmate develop one. You will leave this workshop with new skills and the ability to apply those skills to the needs of your own organization. The course fee includes a one-year membership which includes proposal review, access to funding databases, tuition discounts and more. Register at www.TGCI.com. COMPUTER SKILLS A command of and fluency with computers are now an integral part of our daily lives. SFCC’s Continuing Education has developed computer classes to launch you on your way to personal or professional development. Supplemental courses will enhance your skills.

This course provides an introduction to Microsoft’s word-processing program. It covers important Microsoft Word fundamentals, including creating a document and saving it, using toolbars and the ruler bar and moving around within a document. WORD II You’ve learned the basics, now learn to apply sophisticated Word features to enhance the look and efficiency of your work. Learn how to use mail merge for mailing lists and to create and use tables, headers/ footers, styles and columns. A working knowledge of Word and its basic features is recommended. BASIC WINDOWS Now that you have mastered the basics of the personal computer, find out about the operating system behind the scenes. This hands-on course focuses on navigating the Windows 7 environment. Learn how to customize and manage your desktop; use desktop icons and shortcuts, create new folders, learn file management and become skilled at backing up your data safely. BASIC EXCEL Ever thought of Excel as daunting and confusing? If so, join this slow-paced class in exploring Excel and its many uses. You will learn how to create your next mailing or party list using Excel as a database. Make working with numbers a pleasure instead of a chore by using Excel tools such as auto sum, auto fill and auto calculate functions.
