The Brandeis School of San Francisco inspires students to lead lives of learning and purpose. We provide a challenging academic environment and a welcoming, inclusive community, each deeply enriched by Jewish thought, values, and traditions.

At The Brandeis School of San Francisco, we believe that true learning only happens when knowledge is connected to purpose. We know that what our students learn at Brandeis today will matter to the world tomorrow, and we strive to educate people capable of making meaningful contributions. Our challenging K-8 academic environment is focused on relevance and rooted in Jewish values, traditions, and culture. At Brandeis, we strive to “make it matter” every day: Our school leaders advance a relevant curriculum and champion enduring values.
Our educators infuse our classes with renewed purpose and find ways to actively connect our students to the material.
Our students do their best every day and don’t take their education for granted. Our parents and volunteers thoughtfully invest in the lives and education of their children, sharing their gifts and being a part of our warm and vibrant community.

Our experienced teachers and staff create a dynamic, imaginative, and joyful school environment that helps our students learn with meaning and purpose.

Our students learn to take risks and to learn and thrive through failure, not just success. At Brandeis, we believe that resilience is a critical life skill that can only be developed by welcoming and learning from challenges. Our academic program encourages assertiveness and collaboration through every aspect of our curriculum.

We celebrate the many ways of being Jewish, and encourage students to wrestle with thoughtful explorations of how we interact with our world. Our students actively explore making good decisions every day through the lens of Jewish thought, values, and a joyful and inclusive community.

We welcome students from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, family structures, levels of observance, and ethnicities. Our community is rooted in respect, friendship, and shared purpose. At Brandeis, diversity is not just a principle; it’s a practice. We know our students as individuals and human beings, and our students respond to each other in kind.

“I belong at Brandeis. I feel challenged intellectually, respected for my opinions and choices, and encouraged in my passions.

Our students are at the center of everything we do, both collectively and as unique individuals. Every day we find ways to make learning even more relevant in their lives, applying contemporary and forward-thinking teaching ideas to everything from sports and athletics to art and writing, math and science, overnight trips, community service projects, and our dual language curriculum.
