What are brand guidelines?
Brand guidelines provide the established official policiesandstandardsfortheschool'svisualidentity. They are applied to all materials, whether print or digital.Itincludes guidelinesontheproperuseofthe school'slogo,colors,fonts,andofficialmessaging. Brand guidelines ensure that all marketing and communications for the school are accurate and stayson-brand.
OldSchoolSeal&Logo
Ourformerschoolseal,inusesincethe1960s,added the"Regional"intheearly1980swhentheschool movedtoanewlocation.Thissealdesignis frequentlyusedineducationalinstitutionswherethe SchoolSistersofNotreDamehavetaught.TheLatin inscriptioninthebookisamottorepresentingthetwo pillarsoftheAugustinianwayofeducation.

Thehorizontallogohasbeenusedonapparel, stationery,campussignageandhasbeeninsidethe shieldofourathleticknightlogo.
Theselogos(andvariationsof)shouldnolongerbe usedinanyprint,clothing,promotionalmaterial,or digitalcapacity(web,socialmedia,apps).
Ournewseal,createdin2022,hasseveralupdates. Theschoolhasremoved"Regional"fromitsname.The blueandgoldcolorshaveincreasedslightlyonthe Pantonescaletoshowcaseadeeperblueandgold color.Thesunburstbehindtheshieldisanodtoour Jesuitroots,oftenusedbytheSocietyofJesus.The symbolsinsidethecrestofwheatandanolivebranch (broughtoverfromtheoldseal)andthecross representourfaith,inadditiontoacademia,thearts, andthesciences.Thebannerreads"AdMajoremDei Gloriam"whichtranslatesto"FortheGreaterGlory," theLatinmottooftheJesuits.

TherearestillseveraloptionsforourAthleticsand Activitieslogos.ThePantonecolorshavebeen updated,andtheshieldcontentshavebeenupdated. Pleaseseethefollowingpagesforthemodifications thatcanbemadetothenewlogos.

Logo
Ourlogosarethevisualrepresentationofourschool.
They are icons that symbolize our school's history, culture, and values. They can be used on all print media, advertising platforms, websites, and other externalcommunications.
Logoplacementguidelines:
The school logo should be prominent and visible inallvisualcommunications.
It should not be placed with another graphic or editedtocreateanewimage.
Forlegibility,keeptheareaaroundthelogoclear.
The school logo colors can not be changed or modified.Useonlytheprovidedofficialimages.

Improper Logo Use
Do not allow the logos to be stretched or skewed to fit the parameters of your product. Following the proper sizing conventions required by the vendor will avoid this from happening.
Use proper adjustments to onecolor images to avoid logos appearing as a negative (inverted) image.
Do not create your own logo or use copyrighted logos from other entities. For example, the "Black Knight" logo above that has been used previously on some SFB gear is a copyrighted logo for pro golfer Gary Player.

The horizontal log can be used with or without the sunburst behind the shield, depending on the medium the logo is being used for.
The color of the logos can not be changed except as seen to the right or in greyscale.

The horizontal log can be used with or without "Knights", "Borgia,"or a sports/activities-specific as modeled below, depending on the medium the logo is being used for.
The color of the logos can not be changed except as seen to the right or in greyscale.
Color Palette
The color palette sets a visual tone for the school's brand. Colors can also create a strong recall associatedwithourbrand.
Colorpaletteguidelines:
A secondary color palette may be used to complement the primary palette but never to substitute. Consistentuseisimportant.

Typography
B
Having a signature font contributes to a strong brand. It is considered a visual component and should be consistent throughout. Times New Roman and Futura are the two fonts used in our schoolsealandlogo.Thevariationsofthesetwo fonts that may be used are font size and font style (bold, italics). These fonts are preferred when creating school/academic-related materials. The Impact font in the knight horizontal athletics logo can be used for activities/athletics-relatedmaterials.

Social Media Branding
A separate document will be sent out to St. Francis Borgia staff, faculty, and coaches outlining guidelines for proper social media use and policies and procedures specific to the School.
