Scott H. Chapin ’82
S
cott played football and lacrosse during his years at Severn. His three year varsity football career culminated in 12 Division 1 scholarship offers, including the University of Virginia where he started as right tackle his junior and senior year and won the Peach Bowl. Some of the awards he garnered during his senior year at Severn School included All-County first team; All Metro, honorable mention and Tri-County first team. An accomplished lacrosse player as well, Scott earned an honorable mention in the MSA BB conference in 1982. Scott lives with his wife Kim Buono Chapin ’82 and his three daughters outside of Philadelphia where he is the director of wealth management for the Creative Capital Wealth Management Group.

Julian A. Domenech ’84
A
s a three-sport athlete at Severn (soccer, basketball and lacrosse) Julian was best known for his exceptional soccer skills. As a junior he led the team to its best season in the history of the school and earned all-county accolades. During his senior year, the varsity soccer team won its first conference championship with a 12-0 conference record. Domenech was named Player of the Year for Anne Arundel County and Severn’s Most Valuable Player with 18 goals and nine assists. Julian came back to serve as the Severn’s Athletic Director in 2008 after serving as head coach of Pfeiffer University’s Women’s lacrosse team and assistant athletic director for six years. As the Pfeiffer coach, the women’s lacrosse program won three conference championships and produced five All-Americans players. Coach Domenech was named Conference Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2007. He lives with his wife Erin and his three children in Severna Park.
B
rad had a distinctive sports career at Severn School as the first basketball player in the school’s history to score 1000 career points, and is still one of Severn’s all time leading scorers with 1,159 points. Brad had an equally impressive football career as a quarterback where he threw for more than 1000 yards and was named AllCounty First Team (Arundel Sunpapers), All Anne Arundel County Coaches Independent Football Team, 1992 Co-MVP, and MSA All Star in the Greater Baltimore Classic. Brad was awarded Severn’s most prestigious graduation award for athletics, the 1923 Award and the B. Parker Lindsay Scholar Athlete Award. Upon graduation Brad attended University of Richmond and where he had an outstanding career as a linebacker. A CPMS for First Mariner Bank, he lives with his wife (the former Amy Noble, who was an All-American lacrosse player for Duke University) and their two sons in Severna Park.
Peter S. Janney ’96
P
eter played basketball, lacrosse and soccer where he started as the varsity goalie his freshman year. He played varsity football ’93 -’95 and captained the team his senior year. He served as varsity lacrosse captain his junior and senior year. He was named All County Attackman ’95 and ’96, All Metro Attackman ’96, was selected to the North-South All Star Game ’96, and led the team in points both his junior and senior year. At the University of Pennsylvania, Peter he started all four years on attack and served as captain of the lacrosse team in ’99 and 2000. He was Ivy Rookie of the Year for UPenn in ’97and was named first team All Ivy Attack in ’99 and 2000. He was also an honorable mention All-American and recipient of the I.W. Burnham UPenn MVP award in ’99 and 2000. Peter is a director, Equity Derivatives Trading, Credit-Suisse, NY, and lives in Manhatten with his wife Judith.
After more than two decades of dedicated service Bruce Burns ’61 is stepping down as the chairman of the Athletic Hall of Fame. “It is largely because of him that the tradition of the Athletic Hall of Fame has persevered and achieved the stature and significance that it enjoys in the Severn community today,” said Headmaster Doug Lagarde. Bruce has also served Severn in the capacity of coach, trustee, parent and now a grandparent. Stacey Hendricks Manis ’81 has graciously agreed to take up the reins as the new Hall of Fame Chair. Stacey was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002. Her daughter Michele is an ’08 Severn grad and her son Nick is a member of the Class of 2012. 20
