The Future Sounds Amazing

P

hiladelphia legends Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff joined hundreds of fans of The Sound of Philadelphia and of Settlement Music School on May 6 at Settlement’s 107th Anniversary Gala. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame duo were on hand to lend support to the Sounds of Young Philadelphia (SYP), a program that provides extra funding and program offerings to students from low- and middle-income families.

Initially funded by a three-year grant from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, SYP received support from Gala donors to continue the Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, creators of The Sound of Philadelphia, show their support for the program into the current year.
