Improve students’ response results in writing with a focus on short answer & open-ended responses.

Learning area improvement plans included a direct focus on addressing student knowledge and understanding of command terms.

Religious Education Learning Area improvement plans included explicit teaching and development of the ‘Seton Skills’ including critical thinking. This work allows students to pose questions, identify and clarify ideas and organise and process content information and skills required to respond with purpose and clarity to questions.

Learning area improvement plan in Mathematics involved rewriting rich tasks in lower school to include written responses as evidence of thinking along with calculations.

Improvement plan in HASS included a focus on targeted strategies to improve writing which included a focus on good answer guides, explicit teaching of how to address source analysis and other assessment types

Data from individual learning areas showed student improvement in responses to written tasks

Revise Online, Atomi and Education Perfect access to improve students approach to practice and assist them in developing good responses

100% of Year 12 students achieved the College based requirements for WACE graduation

98 5% of Year 12 students passed the OLNA literacy component, 100% passed the OLNA numeracy component

Design Hub teaching space opened with new digital design courses in Year 8 and 9 with planning for Year 10 in 2023 Hub included new laser cutter used for a range of projects within the course and for other cross curricular projects

OneNote used across all classes in Year 7 and 8 and across some entire Learning areas from Year 7 to 12 This platform allows for digital creation and stylus use which is proven to increase students’ engagement

Year 10 Project Based Learning ran the ‘Just Start It’ Program designed to bring the culture of start-up business into the school A Seton team successfully made it to, and presented, at the State final

In Years 9 and 10 increased offerings of the ‘Try and Trade’ program and careers tasters where introduced

Each Learning Area developed their improvement plans within the Seton Vision for Learning document

Work on the core value of excellence led to a focus on student awareness of progress via feedback

New models of feedback developed in learning areas with data from staff and students showing an increase in understanding leading to better results
